29,000 thousand fans came down to watch the top of the table Geelong Rotters take on up and comers Blood Bay Maple Leaves in what was a perfect day for blood bowl. The Rotters hoping to solidify their hold on top spot while the Maple Leaves were trying to throw a spanner in the works.
In the early moments of the game, the maple leaves were trying to blitz and dodge their way through the line of warriors that spanned across from sideline to side line. Nikki, star catcher down at Blood Bay managed to get some space, the Paris Ite had different ideas, stunning her and allow the Nurgle defence to reset.
Bernard the beast had some plans of his own, he was able to blitz the tiny elves off him and man up Xavier, who was carrying the ball in the back field. The slimy tentacles for the green monster scared Xavier too much to try and dodge away, so he decided to throw. INTERCEPT!! Bernard stuck up a tentacle and plucked the ball out of the sky.
The beast was making a run for it and the endzone was insight, but Khloe had different plans. With some help of some fellow elves, she was able to down the beast. And with her mightiest blow SLAYED the creature, so nothing but a green stain was left on the pitch afterwards. After a blitz from a pestigor, the ball managed to bounce right back into Khloe’s hands, and with some careful precision she was able to avoid the presence of all warrior and throw a deep pass to the waiting hands of Nikki, who after gaining a little space, took a breather and crossed over the line for a score!

There was still time for the Rotters to equalise, and the ball in the ever reliable Caleb Ola’s hands, they were always a chance. The elf defence seemed solid, but a slip up from a line elf meant there was plenty of space for Paris Ite to get free, and with a quick hand off, the rotters had equalised at the half.
1-1 at the half
The second half the Rotters received, and it was much less exciting. The first few turns the Warriors of Geelong showed why they are a force to be reckoned with, KO’ing all but 5 elves left on the pitch. Caleb Ola stood surrounded by comrades, and for the last quarter of the game didn’t move an inch. Alagos and Meldarion tried the best to slip and slide through any cracks between the disgusting opponents, but it was to no avail.
With only moments to spare, Caleb Ola, who has done his fair share of end zone dances, hand the ball Paris Ite, who waltzed it for his second of the day.

In other news Texcoco Cipactli could only manage a draw the Sterling division. Rumours are the players did everything they could, but pour coaching decisions meant the lizards walked away with only 1 point to show. Fans hope to see some improvement, but thinks there are too many off field issues to be serious contenders.
TL:DR Geelong Rotters is the best team there is. |
