Entertaining game, Tuska's got fame and received, but Rybar's Screamers were able to use a wizard and some well timed blitzes to turnover the ball after ball carrier Graabask tripped over his feet trying to dodge away to set up a hand off play. (The best way to down a S4 blodger!). They surfed massive lineorc Slapdash into the crowd and it took the loyal team doc to prevent him from being ripped apart and killed. Screamers' scored late in the first half despite the effort of an Graabask with a 'burst of speed' chasing Boudewijn Venema down to try and prevent the TD. The giant Minotaur and his beastmen teammates took turns at multilating the Tuska Troll Spew Mauff, sending him to the bench with massive injuries he had to slowly regenerate.
Da Tuskas started second half down to 10 greenskins after both KO'd players stayed down. Nuffle turned on the Screamer's with the Mino suffering from more failed wild animal instincts and his players having slippery feet and failing a few dodges. Tuska's were able to get some KO's and even the numbers up slightly (despite a few unsuccessful fouls). Graabask was sneaked behind enemy lines and blitzed the ball free. He recovered the ball and was able to run in the tying TD mid way through the second half but not before an angry beastman on a blitz killed the Tuska's 'elf killer' specialist blizer Morglop.
A few more failed KO rolls later, the last few turns played out eventfully, with both coaches trying to go for miracle plays to get the winning score. A beastman fumbled a long pass that would have put them in the clear. Tuskas went for a tricky recovery and short pass off to a player who claimed he was "In the Zone" despite being surrounded by chaos warriors. The pass was almost thwarted by a "Heroic interception" but the ball drifted just beyond reach of the reach of the intercepter and prospective receiver into the open. Screamer's recovered but their best receiving option was knocked out by a black orc so they half ended relatively quietly.
Spew Mauff was declared a "Star Ascendant" for managing to survive the game despite have no skills or experience.
RIP Morglop. Da Tuska's most experienced player and starting roster player. Long may you pile on unsuspecting gutter runner's in the great blood bowl pitch in the sky. ;-( |
