Vampires enter finals with a chance to t
Recovering from their previous two thrashings, the Barovia Brawlers have returned to form and go into the final round tied for second place after defeating Tor's Chosen in the semi-final round. Things started poorly in the first half, with Kalitas the Vargheist continuing the tradition of knocking themselves down and leaving the team vulnerable on their own drive. The Norse played very smartly, and scored a significant number of KOs, but with two runners left the vampires were still a threat and in scoring position on turn 7. The Norse Valkyries played well against their opposites and sacked the ball, but were unable to complete the pass needed to score and go into their own half with the advantage. Perhaps the highlight of the half was the Brawlers' apothecary returning star bloodbag Saazh from the dead, to keep key positions filled.

In the second half luck would favour the Brawlers. Enough players would return from the sideline that they were only down 1 player, and when Grynt the beer boar was sent off for fouling Kalitas by the referee (after 2 prior attempts going unnoticed), the spirit left the Norse. A solid defence, good kicking, use of their agility and hypnotic gazes let the vampires score twice in a row. With victory secure, and focusing on husbanding their strength for the finals, the Brawlers played conservatively for the final 3 turns. While no casualties were suffered, Kalitas ended the game as it began by knocking itself over before the vampires could stop the Norse touchdown.

The final round match will be against long time rivals at the top of Bronze league, the Ostermark Cockerells. This will be the first official meeting between the two sides, with both teams needing a win to secure a chance at the coin. No doubt both are wishing Tor's Chosen luck in their final game against Serra's Angels, as a win for the Angels will secure them indisputable first. Tor will be hoping for their own win, and the Brawlers and Cockerells to draw, if the Norse want to take the coin

Nobles defeat Vampires
Still reeling from their game against the Chaos Renegades, and missing their captain Strahd, the Brawlers have faced another hard match against Serra's Angels. The Angels were definitely blessed this game, as they started the first turn of the first drive by killing Anje Falkenrath. Luckily the Brawler's star runner would regenerate from the wound, but she was out badly hurt for the rest of the game, and the absence of 2 vampires was keenly felt.

The Angels would continue in this manor, removing at least one Brawlers player from the pitch a turn for the first 6 turns. While the the vampires came within a turn's dash of the touchdown line, poor luck and a dwindling supply of bodies to protect the ball carriers eventually saw them turn over the ball so that the nobles could score on turn 8.

The second half would be exciting, as even with the 4 player disadvantage the Vampires would sack and control the ball several times in the Angel's half. The removals would continue though, with 4 more in the second drive for the Angels. Still the vampires kept the pressure on the ball consistantly, and forced the Angels to score quickly.

In the nobles would need only 2 team rerolls on turn 16 for their game, and while both teams played well luckl was not with the Barrowvia Brawlers. The Vampires did not manage a single armour break into a KO or injury, and the Brawlers continue to be the least dangerous and most fragile team in the division. Their only SPP for the match came from a turn 16 vanity pass by game MVP Sorin.

Congratulations to Serra's Angels for a well played game and being the first team to beat The Barrowvia Brawlers.

Fortunately the Brawlers will have their full compliment of vampires for next rounds match against Tor's Chosen. They will want to win their next 2 games against the Norse and Humans if they want to take home a coin two seasons in a row.

Brawlers bloodied but unbeaten
Chaos renegades team Xena's Roughnecks have beaten the unlife out of the Barrowvia Brawlers, but were unable to prevent a vampire victory. Things started well for the brawlers, with a quick passing touchdown, and they were able to steal the ball from the Roughnecks on defence to go up 2:0 before half time. The chaos morale was saved by an exquisite throw-teammate play by Xena herself, setting up Joxar the Goblin to score on turn 8.

While Roughneck morale improved during the break, the Brawlers would need to bring on their two substitutes after taking some casualties in the first drive. A blizzard setting in over the match did not improve things, and a spate of 7 skull-blocks in a row left the Brawlers vulnerable. By the final turns of the game, all but 2 Vampire players had been removed from the pitch. The roughnecks managed 8 fouls without a send off by the ref, in a blatant show of favouritism against the Brawlers.

Multiple times the ice from the blizzard tripped up Brawlers players on game-winning plays. It was only luck in Joxar the goblin slipping on his way to the end zone that stopped the game from being a draw.

Somehow Kalitas the Vargheist was declared MVP, despite knocking himself down 3 times and not securing any removals. He needs to work better with his team and utilise more 3-die-blocks and perhaps his record will improve. With the team's captain Strahd in recovery for next game against the in form Serra Angels, Kalitas had better hope his experience pays off if the Brawlers want to remain undefeated.

Vampire on Vampire action
A nail biting 2:2 draw in round three agianst the Vanilla Vampires. Things went poorly for the Vanilla vampires to start, with a quick touchdown for Barrowvia and some KO'd thralls. Barrowvia would have all their bad luck on a single turn, with several failed bloodlusts and hypnotic gazes before a double skull turn over. Despite starting with a reserve, the Brawlers went into the second half down a man. Only the steadying presence of star player Ivan 'The Animal' Deathshroud kept the game even, the experienced wight was immovable on defence and a force on offence.

Several times, the brawlers were in positions to score but stopped by an unfortunate pang of thirst from a vampire, and how else could a vampire mirror match end but Brawler's with runner Elenda of Garrano rolling a 1 to fail the winning touchdown. She has been taught the Pro skill for next round against Xena's Roughnecks.
