Match notes
The sun was shining from a blue sky as Tor’s Chosen took to the Ostermak fields for the third round of the MBBL. Receiving the ball, Tor’s frenzied players made short work of the Cockerell line of scrimmage. The Valkyries were gifted the ball after the kick-off went out of bounds and feeling perhaps a bit complacent, the valkyries began throwing the ball to each other, eventually failing. Then they noticed some Cockerell Blitzers who had skirted around the Chosen flanks to chase the loose ball.

The Valkyries collected the ball and made a move for the right flank, blitzing out of range and placing the ball in a Berserkers hand to make the run. Halfway into the Cockerell half, and with the Yeethee smashing the Ogre (who simply refused to participate for most of the half), the Cockerells managed to intervene and knock the ball loose (in turn 3). E. Royale (#5) rushed and grabbed the ball. The Cockerells swung right making semi-cages, then back to the middle, only for the Chosen to block all lines of attack. Seeing no way through, T. Werner (#11) charged Grynt the Beer Boar (#16) and sent it packing (Badly Hurt) as the Cockerells held onto the ball to see the first half out 0-0.

Starting the second half, the Chosen kicked the ball all the way to their far left corner, out of range of all Cockerell and Chosen players. The Chosen were soon at it, creating a scuffle in the middle where Harald the Yethee (#1) was suddenly knocked over by a blitzer and fouled for all that Werner (#11) was worth - removing the yethee for the rest of the game (Badly Hurt). As Werner was sent off the crowd were chanting his name, and his status as MVP was all but guaranteed.

An Ulfwerener made it to the back corner to hassle the Cockerell thrower who was trying to get the ball, only for the Ulf to be knocked over and stunned - but a Chosen defensive scrum was all over the flank. The humans pushed their top scorer, Richarlison (#10) far up the opposing left flank, but it was a decoy! The ball moved forward and was thrown to E. Royale (#5) - who had held it so safely in the first half - and he ran for the Chosen end zone. Out of reach, and with Richarlison occupying the Chosen back-line, Royale was able to run the ball to the end zone and celebrate for the remainder of the second half as the Chosen decided to stop the pretence and just bash the living daylights out of any Ostermarker they could see. There was gang-fouling, pushing, blocking mayhem as the ball was forgotten by the frenzied Norse.

In the last minute, while doing a dance of questionable provenance, E. Royale walked the touchdown in for a last minute 1-0 result. The bloodbath on the flank was complete, and while no-one sustained any injuries the small crowd (80,000) seemed to enjoy the carnage, and the coaches were seen cheering the teams on.
