The first MBBL meeting of coaches Dazed and Fassbinder, the subsequent 2-1 decision to the Sky was a surprisingly bloody affair with four casualties sustained on each side, aided by some particlarly partisan Sky fans who gave Dassault a nasty hangover from a thrown wine bottle.
Renault had the early running, turning over the Sky and killing Cloudveil and Stormbringer before a quarter had elapsed and scoring not much later. It wasn't to last, the Sky found their aggression and blocking gloves and set to work evening the score on the pitch, and in the injury box - Arrowpalm eventually sealing a messy drive to round out the half.
Shoddy handling errors marred the second half. After putting early pressure on Renault's back up thrower Devambez, the clumsy Archos fumbled a very catchable ball at midfield . The Sky pounced and quickly tossed the game winner to Shadowcast who cantered in unmolested.
Renault attempted to rally once again but were missing key players as the Sky clamped down. A late turnover saw the fleet-footed Arrowpalm ice the ball out of harms way, but flub the ensuing pick up at the death while going for a third score. |
