An awesome match for the Gold Division Championship!
The Chargers started out strong killing Wyatt Earp on turn 2 and the Vigilante Apoth confirming that and taking his skull for the blood god! Doing what elves do the Charges scored comfortably on turn 3.
Vigilantes then received the ball and started trying to hurt elves.. it didn't go so well for the next couple of turns, and that was all the elves needed to run in ANOTHER TD. Fortunately a couple had moved off the field and the Vigilantes still had 3 turns to get a TD and keep in touch for the half.
Those 3 turns saw the Vigilantes turn on the pain! Elves were being carted off the field to the KO and injury box in a steady stream. There was almost another moment of sheer elfy brilliance but the dice were not ready to give the elves a 3-0 lead going into half time.. Nuffle came to see a GAME!
Vigilantes were able to score just before the end of the half, being forced to dodge and throw the ball, very un-chaos-like behaviour!
The second half saw the Chargers being well down on numbers, And the Vigilantes capitalised, the strong-armed the elves, keeping them down, but this did not stop the sheer mobility of these stat-boosted-leaping-elves being a constant threat. Vigilantes scored the equalising TD around turn 3-4.
WIth 5 players to field the Chargers set up to receive.. and the almost managed the TD.. amazing.. fortunately the weight of numbers was now telling and the Vigilantes were able to boot off another couple of players and run down the clock to score in their last turn of the match.. or was it..
With 3 players left the Chargers set up hoping for a riot.. and the fans did not disappoint! With now 2 turns to score the championship was back in Charger's grasp. The elves were able to secure the ball and get it to within 5 squares of the their target end zone.
The Vigilante blitz came in and failed the knock down.. with nothing else to do half the Vigilante team piled onto the ball-carrier, trying to bog him down with sheer numbers.
Mal'aki the Licentious heroically tried to blitz his way through, but with 2 dice against he was down (he still had a few dodges to get through, but he was an elf so they were probably safe).
A great match with almost every turn being a nail biter of which direction those elves were going to come from, in the end the brutality won out. |
