Brawlers bloodied but unbeaten
Chaos renegades team Xena's Roughnecks have beaten the unlife out of the Barrowvia Brawlers, but were unable to prevent a vampire victory. Things started well for the brawlers, with a quick passing touchdown, and they were able to steal the ball from the Roughnecks on defence to go up 2:0 before half time. The chaos morale was saved by an exquisite throw-teammate play by Xena herself, setting up Joxar the Goblin to score on turn 8.

While Roughneck morale improved during the break, the Brawlers would need to bring on their two substitutes after taking some casualties in the first drive. A blizzard setting in over the match did not improve things, and a spate of 7 skull-blocks in a row left the Brawlers vulnerable. By the final turns of the game, all but 2 Vampire players had been removed from the pitch. The roughnecks managed 8 fouls without a send off by the ref, in a blatant show of favouritism against the Brawlers.

Multiple times the ice from the blizzard tripped up Brawlers players on game-winning plays. It was only luck in Joxar the goblin slipping on his way to the end zone that stopped the game from being a draw.

Somehow Kalitas the Vargheist was declared MVP, despite knocking himself down 3 times and not securing any removals. He needs to work better with his team and utilise more 3-die-blocks and perhaps his record will improve. With the team's captain Strahd in recovery for next game against the in form Serra Angels, Kalitas had better hope his experience pays off if the Brawlers want to remain undefeated.

Vampire on Vampire action
A nail biting 2:2 draw in round three agianst the Vanilla Vampires. Things went poorly for the Vanilla vampires to start, with a quick touchdown for Barrowvia and some KO'd thralls. Barrowvia would have all their bad luck on a single turn, with several failed bloodlusts and hypnotic gazes before a double skull turn over. Despite starting with a reserve, the Brawlers went into the second half down a man. Only the steadying presence of star player Ivan 'The Animal' Deathshroud kept the game even, the experienced wight was immovable on defence and a force on offence.

Several times, the brawlers were in positions to score but stopped by an unfortunate pang of thirst from a vampire, and how else could a vampire mirror match end but Brawler's with runner Elenda of Garrano rolling a 1 to fail the winning touchdown. She has been taught the Pro skill for next round against Xena's Roughnecks.

Second round thrashing by the Lizards
The brawlers have taken critical damage in a mauling by the Sou'King Sunbaaskers, but hung on for a win. The pouring rain cleared with the first kick off to the lizards, who's chameleon skinks always found themselves in position to catch the ball. The slippery skinks and towering saurus were unprepared for the vampires cagebreaking potential though, and Kalitas the vargheist would chain push the ball free, which the crowd conviniently threw towards the Vampires. The Brawlers scored on the Lizard's half to go up 1-0. Star thrall Saazh was concussed early, and wouldn't recover the length of the game.

For the first time in Brawler's history the ref worked in favour of the vampires, when the first half was shortened by a turn. Setting up for the second drivesaw the thralls thinned out further though, but the lizards ran short of time to score an equalling touchdown. The Brawlers started the second half down a player.

A rapid rush down the sideline by the runners put the vampires up 2-0, hoping for to make their lead unbeatable and bring in more of their KO'd thralls. This would not happen, and by the end of the game the vampires were down 4 KO'd and injured thralls and 1 vampire. Round three will see the Brawlers face The Vanilla Vamps without their captain Strahd, will they be able to defend their unbeaten streak?

Silver starts with a win
Coming off first place in Season 26's Bronze Division, Barrowvia continues their winning streak in round one of Silver Division. It was a tough fought game against another undead team, Tomb Shack-a-Lak http://www.melbourne.bloodbowlleague.com....

Skilled werewolves and Flesh Golems were amazing playmakers and road blocks, often in position to surf or score but never able to seal the deal through the vampiric defence. In a beautiful display of true Blood Bowl, the first half went scoreless, with Tomb Shack-a-Lak not turning over once, going deep into the drive before needing to use a reroll at all. Kalitas the Vargheist cannot say the same, continuing the tradition of knocking themself down on their first activation of any game.

In the second drive, with rerolls refilled and star thrower Sorin returned to the field, Barrowvia were able to score quickly, but not before Sorin was removed again by a knock-out. He would return for the third and final drive thankfully, giving Barrowvia a rare player advantage after Heinrik tackled and killed Twitchy the ghoul. Both teams could have scored in the final turns, but the poor ball handling skills of the werewolves and some misplaced passes gave Barrowvia the ball, who scored on the last turn, in a game that came down to the final dice rolls.

Barrowvia take the Coin
The Brawler's win Bronze Division undefeated. Despite the best efforts of the biased referees throughout the entire season the Brawler's have taken the gold. Round 7 started poorly for the Brawlers, with the ref losing track of the clock and the vargheist Kalitas continuing to contribute less than nothing to the team. A quick passing play put Elenda in range to score early, and some brave stalling left the Angels with not enough time to level the score in the first half. Well timed use of their hypnotic gazes made both Anje and Elenda indispensable for the defence, and fortunately Anje recovered quickly from her concussion over the halftime break. Star thrall Heinrik would not return with her, as Elenda had sent him to the casualties box just before the halftime whistle.

The Angels would respond in the second with a quick touchdown of their own, leveraging their numbers advantage well. Kalitas causing another early turnover did not help. The game looked to be heading to a draw as both teams fought for possession in the final quarter. The officious referee knocked Kalitas down for some perceived insult, preventing his rampage through the Angel lines. Fend from the Angels' linemen continually slowed the vampires offence, until finally an unfortunate trip by hired star player Rumbelow Sheepskin, and blitzer Strefan Maurer's well applied juggernaut skill for a chain push got the vampires free, for a winning touchdown as right the game ended.

MVP to Saazh, for punching out the ogre Mutton. Onwards, to silver division!

Brawlers rise to the top!
Still reeling from their game against the West Coast Doom Divers, down two star players, the Brawlers have maintained their undefeated streak and risen to the top of the table in the penultimate game. The Slay City Rollers played well, with the vampires unable to compete in a brutal game of attrition. Some surgical plays by new runner Elenda (match MVP) showed signs of brilliance, but poorly timed fumbles left the vampires unable to capitalise.

The umpires were particularly useless this match, losing track of the time twice in the first half, and knocking out Henrik to disrupt the Brawler's offensive drive. The coach continues to question the necessity of these worthless bureaucrats.

Almost as worthless, Kalitas the Traitor knocked himself and his thralls down more than he did the opponent. The Vargheist remains a rookie with a single casualty to their name after a season of play. If it can't acheive anything by the end of the season, surely a ignominious retirement is in its future.

Overall a hard fought game against an honourable opponent, and with the Ostermark Cockerells finally losing to Dundead United, the Barrowvia Brawlers are the undisputed leaders of the division.

Phyrric victory for the Brawlers
The referees continue to hold a grudge against Count Strahd and his noble band. They showed favouritism towards the Doom Divers, ignoring flagrant violations by the dispicable goblins. But even having three players removed from the pitch in the first 3 turns (including new Blitzer Strefan) wasn't enough to stop the Perfect Defence and rapid offence of these elegant vampires scoring 2 touchdowns in the first half.

The weather changed after half time to pouring rain, which dampenned spirits considerably, as did a further 4 casualties. The Brawlers could not compete on manpower, and a final break for a third touchdown was foiled by slippery balls and wet grass.

It looks unlikely that the Brawlers will be able to continue their undefeated streak in their next game against Chaos Chosen, with star player Sorin and Blitzer Strefan in recovery for a week, and 3 thralls left mangled by the goblin weapons. Sazh and Izek shall be missed.

Biased Ref but Brawlers Undefeated
Poor luck from the outset, as Xena's warriors started the game with a Blitz. Anje injured her own thrall on the brawler's first action, and by the end of the first drive the Brawlers were down 2 players even with their new sub Haytham coming to the field. Fortunately they could score.

The second drive, continuous poor luck prevented the vampires from securing the ball for the win, though they gained possession twice. A second touchdown was impossible with only 5 players left on the field for the final drive.

Special note to the biased referee, that ignored 8 fouls by the renegade goblin, even as it badly injured Kalitas the Vargheist.

Count Strahd goes 3 for 3
In an evenly matched game against the Vanilla Vamps, the Brawlers manage to eke out a win. Both teams went blow for blow early on, with several blood bags KO'd on both teams. An inability to keep themselves under control saw the Brawlers lose control of the ball on their drive, and Team Vanilla were first to score. After half time though, with not enough blood bags returning the Vanilla Vamps would experience the same turn around, with a touch down for the Brawlers early in the second. A Perfect Defence saw them strike again quickly as Vanilla Vargheist Vlad lost control of himself and turned over. Bad luck in the final quarter stopped the Vanilla Vampires from evening the score, sending the Brawlers to top of the table at three from three wins.

Henrik the thrall was once again recognised as MVP for his outstanding devotion to his lords, and willingness to throw himself in front of any enemy.

First match Victory for Count Strahd
The first game of bronze division, and the first game for the Barrowvia Brawlers was an exciting 2:1 victory. The Sou'King Sunbaskers played their hardest, but their exquisite dodging could not make up for their lacking block plays, rolling double skulls consistently throughout the game. The vampires kept it fair though, with several incidents of friendly fire ensuring the lizards were never too far behind. Highlights included several turns where a player was removed for both teams, like when Sorin badly hurt both a skink and his own thrall Rudolf.
