A (not so) Fresh Team Arises! It has been said of the (up until recently amateur) 'GRAVESONS' that they just didn't have what it took to compete in the big leagues. Several respected coaches have claimed that they simply didn't have the guts (or indeed a complete set of organs between them) or the basic level of sentience to stand a chance. However, rookie coach Atropos, in a rare public appearance at last weeks pre-season press conference, seemed keen to silence the naysayers- permanently, if possible: "What the latest batch- I mean line up- lacks in guts and brains, it makes up for in hunger. I mean, these guys are REALLY hungry. They really want to kill anyone who gets in their way- of victory, I mean. So I'm confident that, before the season is out, we'll have made up at least some of the difference in guts and brains between us and the other teams. Especially brains." Idle boasts or prophetic words? Time will tell. For now we can be sure that team GRAVESONS are going to leave it all on the pitch this season- at least, everything that they don't drag away screaming.
